Working great. Settled the bounce down and boosted the trailer capacity. It also gave me a piece of mind of what would happen if I broke another spring like I did before I bought these. Functional and added safety.

They worked as advertised.

by:

It is extremely hard for me to give this product a high rating because I was unable to install them. After making measurements before ordering them to be sure that they would fit, I purchased to sets for my tandem axle trailer. When they arrived, I determined the number of spacers needed, and in preparation for installation, bolted the springs to the Spring-Under Axle Bracket. I jacked up the trailer, set the first bracket with spring attached in place only to find that the long U-bolt would only project through the bracket approximately 1/8 of an inch, an inadequate distance to attach it with the washer and locknut. A trip to several local vendors failed to turn up a 5/16” U-bolt of the same width but longer. While the SumoSprings seemingly would improve the ride of my trailer, I had to return them due to this one component. I think the manufacturer should include different length U-bolts just as they supply different length bolts for use with the number of spacers needed.

by:

We’re all of their trailer need you just need to contact the Trailer. They stand behind their word 100%.

by:

As advertised Sumo springs dampen rough road ride a lot less side to side motion also

by:

I got 2 sets of these 5K-8k Sumo springs. I have Sumo springs on my tow vehicle and they are great. items states they fit any axle but would not fit my Dexter 8K axles. These are made for 1 3/4 inch springs and mine are 2 inch. called Super spring and they do not have a bracket for 2 inch springs. I was able to make them work by have a machine shop modify the brackets to fit 2 inch springs. they seem to be doing a good job on my trailer.

It sounds like you may need longer ubolts. The ubolts labeled “H” in the instructions.

by:

Pretty easy install on my tandem axel fifth wheel. I did have to add four additional 1" spacers, one for each spring, to get the additional 1/2" lift desired. To do this I had to buy longer M8X80 mm bolts. I haven't towed it yet but I expect them to perform as promised.

by:

The single best upgrade for our toy hauler and the overall hauling experience. Buy these and install them asap!

by:

Exactly as advertised, easy install, works great.

by:

Very easy to install plan taking big trip in a few months can’t wait to see how they handle. Update to follow.

by:

Only 4 stars since I have only used them on one RV trip so far. I installed these in conjunction with an equalizer upgrade (Morryde SRE 4000) on my 2019 Grand Design Reflection TT. For the one trip I have been on, I liked how these helped cushion the ride of the trailer. I would certainly buy them again.

by:

2020 Cyclone 3 axle toy hauler. Can definitely tell a big difference in how quick the trailer settles down over large bumps like bridge transitions. Things inside seem to travel better.

by:

My toy hauler when loaded maxes out the 2 8000# axels. These Sumo Springs stop the over travel of the suspension and stops the spring sag that these trailers are noted for. The ride is more under control and there is less effect on the contents.

by:

We have a Grand Design Reflection 5th wheel with the refridgerator on the rear wall, and we kept having issues with the fridge doors coming open during bumpy travel, so we installed the Sumo Springs based on a number of other reviews that indicated it would restrict the trailers bouncing. Total success, we have not had the doors open since the install, and generally feel less bouncing as we travel. The trailer also has less bounce when stationary, an added benefit.

by:

We purchased these SumoSprings for our 2019 Heartland Fuel 250 knowing that they would not fit our leaf spring top plates, but I knew I could modify the mounting bracket to accommodate our RV. For anyone who has Dexter axles with shocks, you most likely have a 5-1/2” wide leaf spring top plate. If you are handy and have an acetylene torch or map gas you can simply heat and bend the inside bracket, drill a 1/2” hole and through bolt it to an existing hole in the top plate. I actually think this is a more secure install. Overall, it would be nice if there was an exact fit for our Rv, but it was an easy fix. Great product.

by:

Delivered on time and all the parts were there! They were easy to install and give the leaf springs the leaf springs the help they needed. Our camper has less felt recoil on bumps and pot holes which makes for an easier day traveling.

by:

Easy to install only a couple hours for both axles. A more stable ride and haven’t broke any leaf springs on these great American highways, by the way I installed them on a 38’ 5th wheel rv.

by:

Installed on 2022 Jayco NorthPoint 310RLTS. Took them on their maiden voyage east on 138, south on 15 and 215 into Santee Lakes, Ca. Appears they have mitigated some of the rebound caused by springs, however don't expect it to eliminate all. There was still at times significant "bouncing" when transitioning bridge gaps or wonderful LA / San Bernardino Freeways.

Having had Timbren springs on my last truck and really enjoying the support, wondering now if I should have gone with them?

Bottom line, they WORK, just less than I would of expected. But then again, my expectations might have been too high.

by:

etrailer provides quality products you can trust. Sumo springs made a big difference in the ride quality of my fifth wheel going down the road. It helped with chucking and takes some of the roughness out of the roads. Items in the cupboards are still a mess when we get to our destination, but less of a mess. Highly recommend!!

by:

Very easy to install. The rough and uneven road and ride on our fifth wheel is vastly improved.

  • Correct SumoSprings For 2021 Grand Design Solitude 380FL With Tandem 7000lb Axles
I would be happy to help! Since your 2021 Grand Design Solitude 380FL has tandem 7000lb axles you will need either the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # SS26MV if your trailer has overslung leaf springs (leaf springs on top of the axles) or the # SS33HR if your trailer has underslung leaf springs (leaf springs underneath the axles). For your trailer you will need two kits, one for each axle. I included a video review of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

  • Correct SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs for 5,200 Lb Axles
The correct SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs for 5,200 lb axles is part # SS26MV for overslung or part # SS33HR for underslung. They are not designed to provide any lift but every trailer is different so it is possible on some occasions, it would be very minor if even at all.

  • Recommended Product to Improve Ride Quality of 11,000 lb Horse Trailer
If you're using the Andersen weight distribution hitch with the chains, it wouldn't work well with the Gen-Y # 325-GH-1024 ball mount you'd looked at as it would have more effect on the ride of the tow vehicle and minimal effect on the ride of the trailer itself. Plus, Andersen couldn't say if their weight distribution system was compatible with the Gen-Y hitch as they haven't been tested together. I'd concentrate on the suspension of the trailer itself. • How To Find the Correct SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs for a Trailer
It's pretty easy to pick out the correct SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs. There are only two things you need to know, the axle capacity and the spring orientation. The axle capacity is on the axle tag which is a sticker in the center of the beam and the spring orientation you can just tell by looking at the leaf springs. If the leaf springs are under the axle then you have underslung axles and if they are over the axle you have overslung. These two bits of info can then be used to select...

But first, for the equalizer upgrade and crossbeam, for your 35" wheelbase (which you measured correctly from center to center of your wheels) you do have the correct part for your 6k axles: - MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR29DR With that,...

Yes, the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs for 5-8K Axles part # SS26MV for overslung or part # SS33HR for overslung will work on a triple axle trailer. You'll need one kit per axle for a total of three kits. There would be no difference between the single, tandem, or triple axle installs. These springs will do a great job of absorbing road shocks while makes for a smoother haul. They will also work to increase stability by reducing side to side sway. .

  • How to Reduce Ford F-250 Jiggling From Grand Design Travel Trailer
There are a few different things you can do to help with this. It would also be helpful to know what kind of jiggling you're experiencing. Does it just feel bouncy and rough? Is it side to side motion? If your travel trailer weight is more than 50% of your trucks GVWR then it would be a good idea to use a weight distribution hitch which will level you out and reduce sway. Yes, SumoSprings come in kits per axle so two kits would be needed if you have a tandem axle trailer. If your leaf spring stack sits above your axle then you're overslung, and if your leaf spring stack sits below the axle you're underslung. We aren't able to help with an axle replacement as we don't have the dimension axle you need. But we can help with the axle you have now.
